Our Story

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time, not so long ago, there lived a teacher and a radio station general manager. Though they both lived in the fair city of Saint Louis and shared much in common, Meghan and Chad had never met. They were introduced online through mutual friends and they spent the next few years conversing back and forth in the virtual world. Finally, in October 2021, Meghan and Chad decided they should meet in person. For their first date, they chose the Hill. The date began well when Chad presented flowers to Meghan before escorting her to dinner. They opted to dine at Rigazzi’s and then spent the rest of the evening sitting on a bench in Piazza Imo talking and enjoying each other’s company under a clear, starry autumn sky. One date became two, then three, then countless more. From meeting her entire Italian family on the fifth date at her uncle’s New Year’s Eve wedding to visiting Missouri wine country in Augusta to cozy dinners for two, they never tired of spending time together, or talking! It didn’t take Meghan and Chad long to realize that God was blessing them through their relationship. As lifelong Catholics, they have kept God and their faith at the center of their lives. Almost a year after their first date, they returned to the Hill for a date night. On that evening, their happily ever after began when Chad knelt down and proposed. Naturally, Meghan said yes! They are thrilled to be starting this new chapter of their lives with the love and support of their family and friends.

The Proposal

Meghan knew October 1, 2022 would not be a typical date the moment she walked out to Chad’s car and he presented her with a bouquet of flowers just as he had on their first date. That night, which happened to be Chad’s parents’ wedding anniversary, they were going to dinner at Cunetto’s where Meghan’s parents had their first date. The date and venue gave Meghan and Chad a special connection to their parents. At Cunetto’s, they enjoyed some pre-dinner drinks while they waited for their table. Meghan and Chad then savored a wonderful Italian dinner with a lovely glass of wine. Afterwards, they went for gelato and strolled around the Piazza Imo reminiscing about their early dates. Meghan and Chad circled around the park again, prayed at the statue of the Blessed Mother, asking for her blessing and protection on their relationship. They then stopped in front of the statue of Saint Joseph and Chad knelt down and proposed. Meghan, of course, said yes! It was truly una bella notte – a beautiful night!
